NRDC Annual Member’s Meeting

The election of NRDC Trustees will be considered at the meeting along with a presentation by NRDC program staff.

Manish Bapna
President and Chief Executive Officer @NRDC
Manish Bapna is president and chief executive officer of NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), one of the nation’s most influential environmental groups, which works to ensure the rights of all people to clear air, clean water, and healthy and equitable communities. During his 25-year career, Bapna’s leadership roles have focused on designing sustainable development strategies that are equitable, durable, and scalable. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and managing director of the World Resources Institute, a leading global research organization focused on the environment and development, for more than 14 years. As NRDC’s new president and CEO, Bapna joins the 51-year-old nonprofit of some 700 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates around the globe to tackle the biggest environmental issues we face today.
Drew Caputo
Chief Program Officer @NRDC
As NRDC's chief program officer, Drew Caputo is responsible for the overall strategy and operations of the organization's programmatic advocacy to protect public health and the environment. From 1993 to 2006, Caputo served as a senior attorney at NRDC. During that time, he successfully worked to reform federal management of overfished fisheries; force revocation of the largest source of permitted wetlands loss in the United States; block legislative attacks on the Clean Water Act; and advance air quality protections. Before rejoining NRDC as chief program officer in October 2022, Caputo served as vice president of litigation at Earthjustice, where he led its advocacy to defend public lands, wildlife, and oceans. He mounted challenges to fossil fuel development on public lands and waters, defended the Endangered Species Act, and created new initiatives to protect biodiversity and partner with Indigenous communities. Caputo is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
Christy Goldfuss
Chief Policy Impact Officer @NRDC
As NRDC's chief policy impact officer, Christy Goldfuss, is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, fundraising, and representation areas for the organization, including the Environment, Equity & Justice Center, the Center for Policy Advocacy, Communications, and the Science Office. Goldfuss served as the managing director of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, where she helped develop and implement the Obama administration’s environmental and energy policies. Most recently, Goldfuss was the senior vice president for energy and environment policy at the Center for American Progress, where she worked in close partnership with a broad range of stakeholders to develop a climate investment strategy. She also served as the deputy director of the National Park Service, where she led efforts to set and meet strategic goals related to conservation and preservation of the country's natural and cultural heritage. Goldfuss is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C. office.
